The novel P-gp inhibitor encequidar (formerly known as HM30181A) forms the cornerstone of Athenex’s Orascovery platform. Encequidar enables the oral absorption of a wide range of effective anticancer drugs, which can currently only be given intravenously, due to poor oral absorption.

Ailse Oncology Ltd provided strategic direction on the potential for repurposing novel agents in the treatment of PHTS.

The mission of the PTEN Research Foundation is to fund research that will lead to new and better treatments for PTEN hamartoma tumour syndrome (PHTS). The aim is to develop treatments that can relieve the condition’s various symptoms and possibly even reverse or prevent them from occurring in the first place. The pursuit of this goal will also lead to improvements in the care of people with PHTS.
The hope is to act as a catalyst to improve the understanding of PHTS by encouraging collaboration and the sharing of knowledge and results. Aiming to bring the world’s leading experts together to find new solutions and break down barriers to working together to accelerate research. By working closely with the whole PHTS community and the pharmaceutical industry the Foundation aims to achieve a targeted therapy for PHTS in the next 10 years.
